Welcome

This issue is packed with generously detailed technical articles demonstrating both the playful experimentation of printmakers and the rigid research required to perfect new techniques that keep printmaking not only alive but constantly and unpredictably expanding. It is wonderful then to see that the Royal Society of Printmakers has been granted its new name and bye-laws. Huge congratulations to RE President David Ferry for overseeing this significant change, meaning that the RE truly reflects its contemporary, international and inclusive approach to printmaking. No shade on painter-printmakers though! Our blissfully optimistic cover features one such ‘woandering’ artist, R&F Mo: all multi-layered practices and more are welcome here. In the first of a new series considering dual practices, we talk to poet-printmakers about the interconnections of language and print. Artist profiles include Andrew Raftery, who is regardfully reclaiming wallpaper as an artform, and GW Bot, whose landscapes tread the line between fragility and resilience. As ever, I hope there is plenty here to inspire and surprise
